When they existed, did district overseers visit congregations occasionally? If so, was it a bigger deal than a CO visit?
The CO and DO visited the congregation together for the week when the congregation was scheduled to be the "host" for the upcoming Circuit Assembly.

from what i see as a southern european in my constituency the situation is patchy.. the congregation where i am now has 30% old people on zoom but also young couples with almost all their cameras off.
no increase but a slight decrease in the total number of publishers.. circuit assemblies: before covid you couldn't find a free seat if you arrived 10 minutes before the start.
Where I live in the UK the numbers are fairly stable, about 60 to the PT and WT, a few less to Mid-week meeting. Usually about 30+ on ZOOM but only half a dozen have their camera on.
The main reason for maintaining attendees is the very high number of immigrants that have moved in. I really don't know anything about most of them other than the fact i cannot understand much of what they say.

as an educated guess, the august 2024 watchtower may be delayed because 2 complicated subjects need to be discussed in this issue which haven't yet been approved to be included in the revised shepherding textbook.
perhaps the revised shepherding textbook must be finalised before this watchtower is released publicly.. the 2 subjects may be as follows:.
how to shepherd and appoint brothers based on the removal of the hour requirements, getting to know the brothers instead (does this mean prioritising appointing men who have auxiliary pioneered during the co visit and campaigns or men who are regular pioneers?).

John Blaney once saluted my father in the street and exclaimed "Yes Sir!" He thought my father should have been a little more tactful and kind when assigning the territory to the brothers and sisters.

the video shows a jw logo down while worried jws are watching it as a news item on their tv screens, others are seen hiding from the police, others driving is the countryside to escape the authorities.

Exactly. A few years ago we had an item on the meeting about go-bags. A sister said to me how exciting it will all be. I asked her where she planned on going and she said Chelmsford. We will all hire congregation buses to get there. I asked her if she thought they would have facilities for 130,000+ permanent visitors. She thought they would have!

how many of the millions of jws know it’s not true but stay anyway?.
my guess is most jws know it’s not true on a subconscious level to an extent but they don’t want to think about it too much and would never ever voice it out loud.. but this is probably true with all religions around the world?.
I think there are lots of JW's that know it is all twaddle but like myself are too old to do anything about it.
If I walked away now I would lose far more that I would gain, family members, friends, JW's I employ.
If only the internet had been invented 50 years earlier.......
